  • We are now looking for a talented Head of Qualitative Research to, as part of our Leadership Team, challenge the norms of how we do and how we think about qualitative research

  • Ultimately, we want someone with a passion for people and research with a playful sense of curiosity and discovery!

 

Opportunity to apply all your qualitative experience and industry knowledge to exciting project work as well as shaping our qualitative future

  •  You will be ABA’s expert for Qual; the ‘go-to’ person internally and externally, who helps to develop and deliver our qualitative proposition

  • At ABA we are driven by emotion driving our findings – stretching our researchers to consider the role of emotions in consumer decision-making

    • by leveraging our proprietary model, ABA’s 5Drivers, you will have the power to develop new qualitative methodologies which directly link to consumer emotion

  • Your key responsibilities will also involve keeping us at the forefront of new methodologies and building our profile in the industry – having the freedom to innovate and transform our offering

  • As well as further developing your research expertise, as Head of Qualitative Insight your opinions will be vital to the longer-term business strategy and development within the company

    • immediately securing yourself a seat on the senior leadership team

  • Instilling top-class qual in New Business will be an integral focus; assisting our Business Development Director in playing a major part in high-profile business pitches

  • As well as adding new ones, you will be pivotal in maximizing opportunities amongst our existing client base – forming close relationships with key stakeholders and growing key accounts

  • In addition you will benefit from many other experiences that life at ABA offers:

    • involved in the learning and development of the Insight team, maximising other ABAers’ qualitative potential by guiding their progress and taking pride in their successes   

    • implementing new ways of both conducting qualitative research and presenting outputs to clients

    • you will be responsible for building strong relationships and working effectively with other ABA departments to ensure smooth integration of new methodologies into live project work

    • representing ABA and speaking at industry conferences and events

We’re seeking a combination of ability, adaptability and leadership

  • Experience of delivering the aspects of the role detailed above are essential, while these broader attributes would also be very important:​

    • a creative mind that can deliver bespoke, fresh research solutions – putting an engaging twist on issues that commonly confront leading brands

    • proven experience in designing and delivering highly complex, multi-strand projects – and meeting deadlines

    • hands-on experience of moderating a range of qualitative methodologies

    • ability to build trusting relationships both internally and externally, communicating effectively with all levels

    • a strong leader of a medium to large team, with the skills to manage and inspire those around you

  • Previous retail, technology/telecoms, FMCG or travel-research experience is a bonus – but this role is more about having a passion for, and being in-tune with, current trends and the way consumers think
