Football fever hits ABA at the annual MRS Tournament

As the sun beat down and the BBQ sizzled in the background, the fiercest sporting competition in market research dawned upon Hanwell Town FC. ABA Ladies felt ready for the MRS Football Tournament. With 3 training sessions under the belt they were determined to defend their title. The ABA Men were there to give Nunwood, last year’s winners, a run for their money – albeit with a fairly laidback approach.

It was a slow start for ABA Men as they struggled to gain momentum in their first couple of games. The future didn’t look bright – the future looked red (and sweaty). But with a little side-line support from ABA Ladies, Head of Data, Steve, scored a glorious hat-trick and there was a fighting chance. Unfortunately, in the end, it wasn’t enough to secure their place in the knockouts, so they were free to enjoy some beers in the sunshine while catching up with other agencies (not a bad result if you ask them!).

Meanwhile, for ABA Ladies, the stakes started high as their first match was against their toughest opponents from last year – Hall & Partners. After an intense 6 minutes of brutal play, the Ladies conceded a goal, sealing their fate. Despite winning or drawing the remaining games, it wasn’t enough to retain the title. They finished second, but had the warm fuzzy feeling of lending a helping hand (almost literally!) to the other agencies - goalie, Aislinn, circulating her gloves across games!

 

All in all a cracking day – bring on next year!
